Cross Stitch and Cambria

Hello!

My name is Joshua. At the age of 5, my mother taught me to cross stitch. Ever since, I've been stitching off and on for the last 30 years. I was always made fun of for being a male stitcher in a hobby that is traditionally female dominated. I was frequently told that cross stitching isn't "Manly" and I was scared of what people were going to think seeing my work. Eventually, I ended up making an Instagram anyway, just to keep all my projects together in one spot. I started getting noticed and gained a small following. It was then that I discovered "The Witchy Stitcher". She had just started putting out The Nostalgic Tarot Card set (as seen in this photo). Immediately, I was hooked and these last 3 years, my stitching momentum really picked up. Previously,  I had struggled with alcoholism since I was old enough to drink. That project found me at the right time in my life. Shifting my focus to stitching helped me become sober. On 2/21/26, I will be 2 years sober and I owe it all to cross stitch and the lovely community who has accepted me with open arms! It is now my mission to spread the word that crafting doesn't need to be gendered, and that cross stitch is metal!
